ABOUT ANN DREW

Ann Drew is a Queer Illustrator, Comic Artist, and Graphic Designer based out of Kansas City. They teach at the University of Central Missouri, where they earned BFAs in illustration and graphic design; they then went on to achieve an MFA from the University of Arizona, Tucson. Their work primarily focuses on adding a Queer lens to Pulp Erotica, looking at the aesthetics and themes of the 1930s — 1950s pulp magazines and reflecting on how those narratives still impact LGBTQIA+ storytelling today. Ann has self-published two titles: Ether Quest: A Conflict of Coitus, 2022, and Venus and the Apis, 2024. When they aren’t drawing, grading, or tabling at events, Ann can be found plundering thrift stores in the never-ending search for new science fiction magazines to read.
